Strengthening Food Security and Education Through School Gardens

On February 21, 2025, Fundación Agrolíbano began a process of monitoring and technical assistance in the school gardens established in five educational centers, with greenhouse structures provided by the National Rural and Urban Sustainable Development Program (PRONADERS). This action is part of the “Together for Education” initiative, aimed at strengthening food security and providing practical education in sustainable cultivation. The support includes proper soil preparation, seedling production, fertilizer application, and preventive measures against pests and diseases. Additionally, active participation from teachers, students, and parents has been encouraged. This initiative reaffirms the commitment to sustainability and community development, contributing to the achievement of SDGs #4, #12, and #17, particularly in responsible production and consumption and food security.
