Fundación agrolíbano promotes community reforestation in southern honduras

Through its Conscious Leadership for Sustainable Development Program, Fundación Agrolíbano established six community nurseries in Nacaome and Choluteca, producing more than 2,000 native plants. With the support of families, community leaders, and the ICF, about 2,400 trees were planted across 900 households in 10 communities. More than 50% of the trees are fruit-bearing, improving food security while fostering environmental awareness and stronger family ties to the land. The community of Altos del Estiquirín stands out for focusing its reforestation efforts on the recharge area of its water source, as part of its water board’ s management plan. These actions contribute to SDGs 13, 15, and 17.
