Together promoting inclusion
The Agrolíbano Foundation, in partnership with Honduras Outreach Inc. (HOI), the National Autonomous University of Honduras, and the Mayo Clinic, launched the first physical therapy brigade, benefiting over 86 identified cases in the communities of Altos de Estiquirín and Tamarindo in the municipality of Nacaome, and San Agustín in Namasigüe, Choluteca. Over four days, counseling and physical therapy exercises were provided, along with educational talks in each community’s schools, addressing the topic of educational inclusion with the participation of parents, teachers, and students. Discussions with families, community leaders, and volunteers focused on the prevention, care, and attention needed for individuals with cerebral palsy and stroke. These actions contribute to achieving SDGs #3, 4, 16, and 17.
