Agrolíbano promotes analysis of progress towards sustainable community development

On September 26, Agrolíbano, through its Foundation, began a series of community sessions to analyze progress toward sustainable community development in the communities neighboring the melon farms. In Buena Fe, a community in the municipality of Nacaome, 19 people participated, representatives of community-based organizations, such as boards of trustees, water boards, rural banks, parents’ associations, student governments, health committees, etc., as well as religious leaders, sports team leaders, producer groups, community volunteers, and educational authorities, among others.

The participants took a chronological tour, with participatory and playful methodologies, identifying key factors in their backgrounds, the current situation based on their capabilities and deprivations linked to multidimensional poverty, and where they are going according to the approaches they have detailed in their community development plans, the strategies for their management and the strengths and challenges of their organizations. This activity contributes to SDG targets 1, 5, 10, 12, 16 and 17.
